Conservation Education School Trips

The tourism industry is the largest generator of income in South Africa, and we at Theo Tours organise and lead educational trips in and around iSimangaliso Wetland Park (UNESCO First World Heritage site), to expose learners to the benefits of the tourism industry. Our tours are focused towards tourism learners (but are available to all learners), helping them to integrate what they learn in the classroom with what they see and experience on our tours.
The school trip includes all the activities below and it cost R100 per child. 2 teachers enter free of charge and the rest pay.
We offer four different activities

Bush Walk A bush walk (approximately 1.5 hours) where you will learn more about animals, plants and birds.
Crocodile Centre A visit to the crocodile centre (up to 1 hour) to learn more about crocs and other reptiles.
Hippo Watch Combo A hippo watch combo where you will learn about the estuary and Lake St Lucia and will have the opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles and a large variety of different bird species.
Game Drive A game drive (approximately 2 hours) in iSimangaliso Park

Please Note! If you decide to go on the game drive there is an additional charge for each vehicle that enters the park. This charge must be be paid separately by your group upon arrival at the park gates
The charges are:
1.R140 per bus (vehicles carrying over 20 persons).
2.R70 per mini bus.
3.R35 per other vehicle.
Every school requires something different for their school learners, so we will arrange the tour specifically for your school. All you need to do is let us know which activities you want to do and we will provide you with a quotation. We are also able to arrange accommodation for your entire group, so if you would like to stay for more than one day, please let us know. Accommodation costs are R90 per person - room only.
